Lego Club

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE COMMITTEE’S WORK:

 

  • Lego® club is generally a club that can fit into the chairperson’s vision

  • Much of it can be changed to fit into your schedule

  • The club age ranges, dates of meeting, amount of children, amount of volunteers and more is all flexible

  • In previous years, it has met monthly in the first Monday of the month. Meetings are held in the library from 3:30 to 4:20

  • The DAY OF THE CLUB MEETING:

    • Volunteers meet at 3:15 for set up

    • Between 3:15 and 3:30, volunteers would get 4 Lego bins and a volunteer would bring up the kindergartners

    • A check in of students completed

    • There is a mandatory parent/guardian check out

    • Lego creations brought down to the Lego display case using a trolley

    • All Legos are cleaned up by students and the Lego bins are brought back down to the storage room

    • Generally Volunteers were finished no later than 5 p.m. 

  • Before the next month's meeting a volunteer or volunteers needs to Dismantle All of the Lego creations and break them down into a Lego bin. This takes approximately one hour a month.

 

SCHEDULED EVENTS (WITH DATES IF AVAILABLE): 

  • Typically runs the 1st Thursday of each month for 4 months. The program is immediately after school until 4:00 PM (This can vary based on your availability) 

  • $20 per child for a 4 week program 

  • Need about 4 people a week to help run this club in addition to the chair

  • For 2019-2020 The program will start on Oct 4th and last session is in January 

 

CAN WORK BE DONE OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL? 

 

  • All of the background scenes were completed outside of school such as completing Sign-up list, Emailing parents With Club details

 

ROUGH ESTIMATE OF HOURS INVOLVED AS CHAIR/MEMBER:

 

  • More time is needed during sign up time once club is up and running less time is needed

  • Generally, a few hours is needed for set up of the club and then about 5 hours per month for the club meetings and pre/post meeting work
